Dr Karen Gibbon is a Consultant Dermatologist registered with the General Medical Council. She works privately at Spire Norwich Hospital. She previously worked at Barts Health NHS Trust in East London.
Her clinical interests include general dermatology, vulval dermatology and skin cancer treatment. She treats both adult patients and children. She has continued to see patients face to face and virtually during the COVID pandemic.
She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and was Honorary Secretary of the British Association of Dermatologists (2017-2019).

Treatments
Dr Gibbon treats skin conditions affecting patients of all ages including children. Common conditions include acne, eczema, rosacea, psoriasis, changing moles & skin cancer. She has a special interest in female genital skin conditions e.g. lichen sclerosus and lichen planus.

Your initial consultation is an important meeting to diagnose your condition and recommend the most appropriate treatment options. If you have private medical insurance, it is very important that you check with your provider about your cover and authorisation for outpatient consultations and any tests or procedures.
Dr Gibbon follows the CMA (Competition and Marketing Authority) and article 22 guidance with respect to advising all patients about costs prior to their initial consultation and for any subsequent treatment. Please be aware that the hospital will make an additional charge for the use of their facilities e.g. theatre or if blood tests are undertaken. Any skin specimens sent for analysis will also incur additional pathology charges.
